Zanzibar Travel Photography
I spent some time on the so called Spice Island Zanzibar, which is located at the African East Coast and which is a semi-autonomous region of Tanzania. Zanzibar has more to offer than just beautiful beaches and landscapes. There you can also find stunning cultural places and colonial architecture, like in Stone Town, the oldest district of Zanzibar City, which belongs to the Unesco World Heritage. Thailand Travel Photography
After travelling through Myanmar, the land of golden pagodas, I moved to Thailand. First stop was Ko Samui, where I really liked the amazing sunsets on this beautiful island, located in the Gulf of Thailand. After some days I took the ferry to Ko Phangan, the island which is well known for its full moon partys, but also for really beautiful beaches. Next stop was Ko Tao and Ko Nang Yuan, where I was impressed by the amazing beaches and underwater world of these islands. Some days later I crossed Thailand by bus to get to the Andaman Sea. When I arrived in Phuket, I took a speedboat to get to Ko Phi Phi, one of the most beautiful places on earth. Especially the Maya Beach and the look from the viewpoints made me speechless. But to be honest, the most beautiful island was Ko Lipe. Heaven on earth. Absolutely worth a visit. Thailand Travel Photography Gallery.
Myanmar Travel Photography
Impressed by a lot of wonderful moments I had in Laos, I took the plane from Luang Prabang to Bangkok. I just stayed there for one night, to get a direct flight to Mandalay in Myanmar. Myanamr is also called the golden country or the country of smiles and I think this says it all. I have seen so many beautiful places and met so many friendly locals in Myanmar. I am so grateful for these lifetime memories. After enjoying the sunrise on the Mandalay Hill, I took the bus to Bagan to see the thousands of temples that are spread across the plains of Bagan. Climbing on top of some of these historical buildings, to photograph amazing sunrises and sunsets, was simply an amazing experience. Next stop after an adventurous 9 hours trip by minibus, which was packed with 17 people, was Nyaung Shwe located at the famous Inle Lake. I rented a longtail boat to photograph the Intha fishermen at sunrise. It was a lifetime dream which came true. To get to the last destination of my trip through Myanmar, I decided to take the plane from Heho airport to Yangon, where I visited the 2500 years old golden Shwedagon Pagoda. Laos Travel Photography
After visiting the breathtaking temples of Angkor, I took the plane from the International Airport of Siem Reap in Cambodia, to fly directly to Luang Prabang in Laos. Luang Prabang lays at the Mekong River and has a very developed tourist industry. Especially because of the cultural heritage and the beautiful architecture, Luang Prabang is called the most beautiful city in Southeast Asia. Laos Travel Photography Gallery.
Cambodia Travel Photography
After visiting the Mekong Delta in Vietnam, I got back to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) to take the bus to travel to Phnom Penh, the capital city of the Kingdom Cambodia. When I arrived in Phnom Penh the locals celebrate the Khmer New Year and it was amazing to witness this event and enjoying a beautiful sunset at the Royal Palace. From Phnom Penh I took the plane to move to Siem Reap, to visit the breathtaking temples of Angkor Wat, Bayon and Ta Prohm, which belong to the UNESCO World Heritage. Vietnam Travel Photography
My trip through Southeast Asia started in the Old Quarter in Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. Hanoi was once the capital of French Indochina and it was amazing to see some beautiful colonial buildings. Next stop was the Halong Bay, where I did a two day cruise to these breathtaking landscapes of Vietnam, which belong to the UNESCO World Heritage. Another beautiful area to take stunning landscape photographs, especially of rice terraces, is Sapa where I stayed for some days. Besides taking landscape photographs, I photographed the Hmong, an ethnic group from the mountainous regions of southern China, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand. The next stop in Vietnam was Tam Coc, also known as the Dry Halong Bay, because of it's giant rocks in the green rice fields. After some days I travelled to Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam and photographed the amazing Imperial Citadel. Hoi An, which is supposed to be the most beautiful city in Vietnam, was my next stop in this beautiful country. I loved to photograph the colonial buildings of Hoi An and walk through the streets which are illuminated by thousands of colorful lanterns. What a magical city. Because of the long distance between Hoi An and Saigon, I decided to take the plane from Da Nang. It was so nice to walk through the streets of Saigon, visiting the War Remnants Museum and enjoy the delicious street food. My last stop in Vietnam was the Mekong Delta, where I enjoyed a boat trip on the Mekong and through the palm groves.
